ABOUT RICHARD ROY
Rick’s Run 5K was created in memory of Richard A. Roy.
Rick was a Vietnam Veteran who served his country proudly, yet suffered from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). He lived with this burden daily throughout his life until he passed unexpectedly after complications from surgery in 2013.
All who knew and loved him saw the emotional hidden wounds of that sacrifice. We are learning more each day about PTSD and how to help veterans who suffer with this disorder. Rick’s Run will be donating 100% of the proceeds to the Veterans Forward!
Veterans Count’s mission is to provide critical and timely financial assistance and services when no other resource is available to veterans, service members and their families, to ensure their dignity, health and overall well-being. The organization has been successful providing our local veterans with financial assistance that averts homelessness, provides housing and access to mental health services.
